A leaky hose connection is almost always a worn or missing rubber washer inside the hose end. This is a two-minute fix that costs less than a dollar.
Turn off the spigot and disconnect the hose by turning the coupling counterclockwise. Look inside the hose end coupling for the small rubber washer. If cracked, flattened, or missing, that's your leak.
Pop the old washer out and press a new one firmly into the groove. Wrap two to three layers of plumber's tape clockwise around the spigot threads.
Screw the hose coupling back on by hand until snug. If it still drips, use pliers for a quarter turn more. Turn the spigot on and check around the connection.
